28-29 Nov
The QualityLink Standards Consultation Board held its first face-to-face meeting in Brussels on 28/29 November 2024, bringing together experts from various European universities, alliances and organisations to discuss a Quality Data Exchange Architecture for inter-institutional course catalogues.
The two-day session, hosted by EUF, focused on developing standards that would allow universities to share course data efficiently through a centralised system, eliminating the need for multiple interfaces between institutions. Key topics included policies on data sources and access, the creation of unique course identifiers, course disambiguation, ontology development, and data conversion and mapping.
Participants expressed particular interest in creating standards that integrate well with the European Learning Model (ELM). The group discussed the importance of visibility constraints for different user groups and quality indicators for course descriptions.
The discussion highlighted the need for structured data approaches and centralised databases to simplify information sharing among institutions. The Board will continue its work through online meetings in early 2025, with a second face-to-face meeting scheduled for March 2025 in Zagreb.
QualityLink is dedicated to creating a seamless and interoperable environment for sharing quality data across European higher education
